Yesterday, Lily and I took our canoe out on its first voyage of 2026. Yep, late in the season. We made the one-and-a-half-hour paddle from our preferred spot just east of Cherry Beach, by the Toronto Windsurfing Club, to the southern part of The Mooring Wall near Hanlan’s Point. The light on the way there wasn’t great, and the beach was packed and windy, so I only took photos on our equally long return. It was a great way to spend a Saturday. We’re constantly mesmerized by the charm and quaintness of the Toronto Islands in the summer.
